Easy No-Hand-Touch Phulka Chapati

Ingredients

  • 2 cups wheat flour (atta)
  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped coriander (optional)
  • Approximately 2 cups or more water

Preparation

  1. Take a mixing bowl and add 2 cups of wheat flour

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of oil or butter

  3. Add salt to taste

  4. Add some finely chopped coriander if desired

  5. Add spices of your choice if making paratha

  6. Gradually add approximately 2 cups or more of water while mixing to make a thick batter

  7. Heat a non-stick pan

  8. Pour a spoonful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a thick layer

  9. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes

  10. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes

  11. Flip again and press with a spatula while roasting until air bubbles form

  12. Drizzle some oil if desired for paratha

  13. Cook until golden-brown

  14. Make additional chapatis using the same method

Tips

  1. The batter should coat the spoon and not be too runny

  2. Spread the batter into a thick layer on the pan

  3. Drizzle oil if you wish to make a paratha version
