Cahide Sultan's Turkish Oil Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup wheat starch
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 lemon zest
- about 2 cups flour
Toppings
- Whole almonds
Preparation
Whip the vegetable oil, powdered sugar, and eggs with a mixer for about a minute.
Add the starch, lemon zest, baking powder, and finally the flour to obtain a soft dough.
Take pieces the size of a walnut from the dough and roll them.
Place them spaced apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Press almonds into them.
Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees until lightly browned.
Tips
Please add the flour measured.
The dough may stick a little to your hands. The important thing is that it doesn't stick to the mixing bowl.
