Cahide Sultan's Turkish Oil Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup wheat starch
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 lemon zest
  • about 2 cups flour

Toppings

  • Whole almonds

Preparation

  1. Whip the vegetable oil, powdered sugar, and eggs with a mixer for about a minute.

  2. Add the starch, lemon zest, baking powder, and finally the flour to obtain a soft dough.

  3. Take pieces the size of a walnut from the dough and roll them.

  4. Place them spaced apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. Press almonds into them.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees until lightly browned.

Tips

  1. Please add the flour measured.

  2. The dough may stick a little to your hands. The important thing is that it doesn't stick to the mixing bowl.
