Easy and Flaky Turkish Poğaça
Ingredients
- 2 eggs (yolks reserved for brushing)
- 150 grams room temperature butter
- 1 teacup yogurt
- 1 teacup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Flour (as needed to form a soft dough)
Filling
- White cheese mixed with parsley
Topping
- Sesame seeds
- Nigella seeds
Preparation
Mix all ingredients except the egg yolks, gradually add flour to make a dough softer than an earlobe.
Divide the dough into pieces slightly larger than an egg and flatten each to the size of a tea plate.
Place the cheese mixed with parsley in the center of each piece and seal the dough around it.
Arrange on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with the reserved egg yolks, and sprinkle with sesame and nigella seeds.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius until golden and cooked through.
