Quick Turkish Dessert with Syrup

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons semolina
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1/2 cup ground pistachios or crushed hazelnuts

Syrup

  • 2.5 cups milk
  • slightly less than 1 cup sugar

Topping

  • coconut

Preparation

  1. Beat eggs and sugar in a deep bowl until frothy.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients except pistachio and mix.

  3. Add pistachio and pour the mixture into a greased square baking dish.

  4. Bake at 160°C until golden.

  5. Meanwhile, dissolve sugar in milk by stirring continuously to make the syrup.

  6. After removing from the oven, wait 5 minutes and pour the syrup over the dessert.

  7. Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate.

  8. After 3-4 hours, slice and sprinkle with plenty of coconut.

  9. Serve cold.
