  • 1.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 1.5 cups yogurt
  • 1 vanilla
  • 1 baking powder
  • 2 cups flour

Topping

  • 3-4 apples
  • Currants

Preparation

  1. Put the vegetable oil, sugar, and yogurt in a bowl and whisk until creamy, then set aside 1 cup of the mixture.

  2. Add the eggs to the remaining mixture and whisk again.

  3. Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla, and mix well.

  4. Meanwhile, soak the currants in water for 15 minutes.

  5. Peel the apples and cut them into half-moon shapes.

  6. Pour the batter into a rectangular baking dish.

  7. Place the apple slices upright on top of the batter.

  8. Sprinkle the soaked currants over the top.

  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius until the top is golden brown, about 35 minutes.

  10. After removing from the oven and allowing to cool slightly, pour the reserved sauce over the cake and spread it evenly.

Tips

  1. For added flavor, consider adding 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts to the batter in future preparations.
