Pear and Almond Crisp
Ingredients
Base
- 6 large pears, peeled and cut into sixths
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Topping
- 1/2 cup flaked almonds
- 1 cup ground almonds
- 1 cup whole jumbo oats
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- optional extra pear for topping
Preparation
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Put all the base ingredients in an oven-proof dish, mix to combine and bake for 20 minutes.
While that’s happening, mix all the topping ingredients in a bowl.
Add the topping mix on top of the pears.
If using the extra pear, peel, quarter and put on top.
Lower the heat to 170°C and bake for 45 minutes in the middle of the oven.
Let it cool slightly and serve.
Serving suggestions
Can be served as a weekend breakfast with yogurt or as a dessert with custard or ice cream.
