Steamed Banana Parcels with Coconut
Ingredients
- 3 cups golden bananas or young bananas
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- Banana leaves, as needed
Coconut filling
- Grated coconut (white part), as needed
- Pinch of salt, to taste
Preparation
Scald the banana leaves and set them aside for use.
Mash the bananas and add the sugar and flour, then mix until well combined.
Mix the grated coconut with a pinch of salt to prepare the filling.
Spread the banana mixture on the prepared banana leaves.
Place a portion of the coconut filling on top of the banana mixture.
Fold the banana leaves to form neat parcels and repeat until all mixture is used.
Steam the parcels for 25 minutes or until fully cooked.
Tips
Best served hot immediately after steaming.
Ideal for afternoon tea or as a simple snack.
