Cheesy Turkish Börek Slices
Ingredients
- 5 phyllo sheets
Sauce
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 100 grams melted butter
- 4 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 bottle soda water
- 1 cup kasar cheese
- 2 cups white cheese
- Half bunch parsley
- 1 packet baking powder
Topping
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- 1 egg yolk
Preparation
Mix all the sauce ingredients together, including the cheeses.
Lay out one phyllo sheet and spread the sauce evenly over it.
Layer the remaining phyllo sheets, spreading sauce between each layer.
Roll the stacked sheets into a log shape and cut into three equal pieces.
Wrap each piece in plastic wrap and place in the freezer.
If baking immediately, chill in the freezer for 20 minutes, then slice into smaller pieces.
Brush the slices with a mixture of yogurt and egg yolk.
Bake in a preheated oven at 185 degrees Celsius until golden and cooked through.
