Turkish Poğaça Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 tea glass warm water
  • 1 tea glass yogurt
  • 1 tea glass vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs (yolks for brushing)
  • 4 to 4.5 cups flour
  • 125 grams butter

Preparation

  1. Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast, then add the remaining ingredients to form a soft dough that does not stick to hands. Cover and let it rest for 45 minutes.

  2. Divide the risen dough into 4 equal pieces.

  3. Roll out each piece, brush with oil, roll into logs, and cut each into 8 equal pieces. Arrange in a baking tray.

  4. Cover and let rest in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

  5. Shape the dough pieces as desired.

  6. Let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.

  7. Brush with egg yolk.

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown.
