Yeastless Crumbly Turkish Pastry
Ingredients
- 100 grams butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 teaspoon mahleb powder
- Flour as needed
Preparation
Mix all ingredients except flour in a large bowl until well combined.
Gradually add flour to form a dough.
Shape pieces of dough by eye.
Place the shaped dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush with egg yolk.
Bake in a preheated 180°C oven until golden brown.
Notes
This pastry is quick to prepare and ready by the time tea is brewed.
