Homemade Vegan Tofu Bacon
Ingredients
- 450 g firm tofu, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil + 2 tbsp for baking sheet
- 1 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
Preparation
Mix the marinade by combining soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, onion powder, and nutritional yeast in a bowl
Coat the thinly sliced tofu with the marinade and let it marinate for 15-30 minutes
Preheat the oven to 200°C and grease a baking sheet with the additional 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Arrange the tofu slices on the baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy
