Spicy Indonesian Fried Tofu Snack
Ingredients
- 8 pieces tofu
- 1/2 head cabbage
- 2 carrots
- 2 stalks green onions
Ground spices
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 shallots
- 2 candlenuts
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 15 chilies
- Salt (to taste)
- Seasoning (to taste)
- Sugar (to taste)
Batter
- 3 tablespoons rice flour
- 1 tablespoon wheat flour
- 1/2 glass water
- Seasoning powder (to taste)
Preparation
Grind the ground spices into a paste
Prepare the vegetables by chopping cabbage, carrots, and green onions
Mix the ground spices with the chopped vegetables to make a filling
Cut the tofu into pieces and stuff with the vegetable mixture
Make the batter by combining rice flour, wheat flour, water, and seasoning powder
Coat the stuffed tofu in the batter
Fry the coated tofu in hot oil until golden and crispy
Tips
For a thicker batter, add more flour mixture as needed
