Moist Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup orange juice

Preparation

  1. Beat the egg yolks in a mixer.

  2. Gradually add the sugar, then gradually add the oil.

  3. Slowly add the orange juice, flour, and baking powder.

  4. Finally, fold in the stiff egg whites and orange zest using a whisk.

  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking pan.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes.

Syrup

  1. Bring the sugar and orange juice to a boil and let it simmer until slightly thickened.

  2. Pour over the hot baked cake.
