Moist Orange Cake
Ingredients
- 2.5 cups orange juice
- 1 cup oil
- 3 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 0.5 cup orange juice
Preparation
Beat the egg yolks in a mixer.
Gradually add the sugar, then gradually add the oil.
Slowly add the orange juice, flour, and baking powder.
Finally, fold in the stiff egg whites and orange zest using a whisk.
Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking pan.
Bake in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
Syrup
Bring the sugar and orange juice to a boil and let it simmer until slightly thickened.
Pour over the hot baked cake.
