Revani Turkish Semolina Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups semolina
  • 1 heaping cup flour
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • grated lemon zest

Syrup

  • 4 cups sugar
  • 5 cups water
  • juice of half a small lemon

Preparation

  1. First, prepare the syrup and let it cool.

  2. Beat eggs and sugar with a mixer until fluffy.

  3. Add yogurt, oil, semolina, baking powder, flour, vanilla, and lemon zest in order, mix well, and pour into a baking tray.

  4. Bake in a preheated 200-degree oven until golden.

  5. Pour the lukewarm syrup over the lukewarm cake after removing it from the oven.

  6. Let it rest in the cold for 1 hour before serving.
