Steel Cut Cardamom Oats
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup steel cut oats (soaked overnight, drained and rinsed)
- 1 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp ground flax seed
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/2 a banana, sliced
- pinch of salt ?
Preparation
Add oats, flax seed, and spices to a sauce pan
Add in milk, stir and bring to a boil
Reduce mixture to a simmer, add in banana slices and allow to cook and thicken for 5-8 minutes
Remove from stove top, remove cinnamon stick and serve
Oats will continue to thicken the longer it sits, so feel free to loosen it up with a little extra milk
