Homemade Garlic and Herb Bread

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3.5 cups flour
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 packet instant dry yeast
  • 1 heaping teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Chopped parsley, dill, or fresh basil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Salt

Toppings

  • Kashar cheese
  • Tomato
  • Olive

Preparation

  1. Heat the water, mix all dough ingredients in a bowl, and knead for 15-20 minutes until the dough is smooth.

  2. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until it has increased 2-3 times in size.

  3. Prepare the garlic sauce by mixing the butter, chopped herbs, garlic, and salt.

  4. On a floured surface, shape the risen dough into a round form and place it on a baking sheet.

  5. Score the dough with a knife, spread the garlic sauce mixture over it, and add the cheese and desired toppings.

  6. Bake in the lower part of a fanless oven at 180 degrees Celsius until golden brown.
