Gujarati Caramelized Milk Peda
Ingredients
- 1 liter milk
- 1 cup sugar (1/4 cup to be cooked with milk and 3/4 cup for caramel sauce)
- Juice of 1 lemon mixed with water
Preparation
Mix lemon juice with water to create a mixture.
Cook milk with 1/4 cup sugar and the lemon mixture over medium heat until it reduces and thickens.
In a separate pan, caramelize the remaining 3/4 cup sugar to make a caramel sauce.
Combine the caramel sauce with the thickened milk mixture and stir until well blended.
Shape the mixture into small peda balls and allow to set before serving.
