Apple Cinnamon Instant Oats with Slow Cooker Baked Apples

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Fuji Apples, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp Chinese 5 spice or a pinch of nutmeg
  • Juice of one lemon

Preparation

  1. Place all the apples in the slow cooker.

  2. Toss the apples with cornstarch, cinnamon, cardamom, Chinese 5 spice (or nutmeg), and lemon juice.

  3. Cover the slow cooker with a lid and set it to high. Cook for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally as the apples cook down.

  4. Serve the slow cooker baked apples on top of your instant oats to add flavor and freshness to your morning meal.
