Chili Garlic Baked Tofu
Ingredients
- 1 block extra firm tofu, drained and pressed for at least an hour
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tsp chili garlic sauce
Preparation
Press the tofu for at least an hour using a tofu press or by wrapping in a clean towel and placing a heavy object on it to remove excess water. Alternatively, use prepressed or super firm tofu.
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Cut the pressed tofu into even cubes and place in a Tupperware container.
Add the soy sauce, nutritional yeast, and chili garlic sauce, then seal the container and gently shake to coat the tofu evenly.
Remove the tofu and place on a lined baking sheet, ensuring the cubes aren't touching.
Bake in the oven for at least 25 minutes or until the edges are browned.
Remove from the oven and serve as desired, for example, in a dinner bowl with green tea buckwheat noodles, sautéed broccoli, mushrooms, red pepper, cabbage, and topped with avocado.
