Banana Walnut Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp ground flaxseed
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 banana
- 2 tbsp chopped walnuts, divided
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Preparation
Cut banana into coins and set aside.
Add oats, half of the banana coins, 1 tablespoon of the chopped walnuts, chia seeds, cinnamon, milk and salt. Bring to a simmer and stir for about 5 minutes until fully thickened.
In a separate sauté pan, add banana and syrup. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over top and cook on low heat to cook bananas. Carefully flip to cook both sides evenly for about 2 minutes per side then set aside.
Pour the cooked oatmeal into a bowl and top with bananas and walnuts.
Tips
Top this oatmeal with chocolate granola butter for extra flavor.
